E. Huntington Declaration of Independence circa 1822 For sale as is, as pictured, SOLD |
| For sale is this 1822 Declaration of Independence Broadsides engraved and printed by Eleazar Huntington. Although in researching this item I found different places stating 1820-1825 on the printing date I was told by the experts at Bonhams & Butterfields that this was printed in 1822. I found this item in a box of books I purchased at an estate sale and have had it verified by professionals. The book i Found it in was called "Lives of The Signers of the Declaration of Independence with a sketch of the Life of Washington by Rev. Charles A. Goodrich 1848 My first impression was that it may have come with the book because it is on paper but on further research i found it was much older. Its size is 23" X 19" this was the first engraving of the Declaration to include the facsimile of the signatures.To see more detailed pictures please follow the link below the picture.
